Abstract digital image "Chicago I" taken from the "horiçon" series by Philipp Brunner

horiçon

Featuring images made since 2006 from various selected source photographies, horiçon incorporates a simple digital transformation technique – resulting in a densation and reduction of information and thus creating generic abstract horizons.

This project is an approach to my interest in traditional topics in art history such as landscape painting and still lifes.

Each horiçon tableau can also be read as a digital sketch – their actual content of information is rather limited. These images are rather meant as digital source codes for the reproduction of certain recorded ambiences and memories in various media – from c-prints to large format wall painting to LED light objects – still to be made.
